Happy Earth Day, French Girls!
Today marks the 50-year celebration of Earth Day – a global day of recognition of the world’s largest environmental movement to promote change for our planet.
Amidst the backdrop of our current global crisis, this year’s celebration may look a bit different as public events and celebrations are no longer possible, but there are still ways to celebrate our Earth from home.
FRENCH GIRL Gives
As businesses continue to stay closed for our public safety, nonprofits are having an especially hard time staying afloat. With the absence of fundraising events, volunteers, and general funding, it is now more important than ever to lend support to the organizations that work tirelessly to make our world a better, safer place.
Every year, FRENCH GIRL selects a charitable partner to work with and donate to through FRENCH GIRL Gives. Through this program, $1 from each website sale of our best-selling Rose Lip Polish is donated to a rotating nonprofit dedicated to social progress, women’s rights and empowerment, or protecting our natural world. Currently, we are partnering with Puget Soundkeeper, a local Seattle, Washington nonprofit environmental advocacy group that works to protect the Puget Sound waterways from pollution.
While we had originally planned to participate in a hands-on coastal cleanup with Puget Soundkeeper to celebrate Earth Day, it is critical that we continue practicing social distancing in order for our Earth and our people to heal.
Instead, to celebrate Earth Day and lend our support to Puget Soundkeeper, Rose Lip Polish is now 25% off on the FRENCH GIRL website.
So purchase one for yourself, send a Rose Lip Polish to a loved one, or gift one (or a few!) to a healthcare or essential worker, and know that $1 of each Rose Lip Polish you purchase is directly benefitting Puget Soundkeeper in their efforts to keeping our natural waterways clean and safe.
We cannot wait for the day when we can safely come together to celebrate the beauty of our Earth, and plan to participate in coastal cleanups and local events to raise awareness and create solutions to pollution in the future. For now, we thank you for continuing to support small businesses, charitable organizations, and helping us find solutions to keep our planet safe.
